The entire nation is in a state of shock after hearing that popular On Air Personality, Daniel Foster AKA ‘Dan Foster’, ‘Top Dawg’ or ‘The Big Dawg’ had lost his life to the dreaded COVID-19. We are deeply feeling the impact of this HUGE loss and because we know you are too, how about we think back and recount some of our most cherished memories about him? Sound good? Here are five things we absolutely adored about the Late Dan Foster

“He Wasn’t Born for Radio, Radio was born for him”

Dan Foster was a natural at speaking and making people listen. It seemed to come naturally to the cheerful 61 year old up until the time of his untimely death. From his time in foreign radio stations to his decision to settle down in Lagos state, The Big Dawg made it clear that he was here to stay. His flair for conversation, energetic vibe and magical voice made the time he spent on air the best times of our lives.

“His voice literally made OUR childhood”

One thing we can never forget about Dan Foster is his rich Baritone voice. Once that bellow came

through the speakers we know it’s about to be a good morning. Twitter influencer JJ. Omojuwa

took to the platform to say “Dan Foster’s voice was a huge part of my growing up. His voice on

Cool FM. His playfulness. His kindness. Long before I saw what he looked like, his voice

communicated his personality in a way no picture needed to. We remember all too well the times

we were down and that cheerful voice lifted our spirits. @HamofArabia tweeted “RIP Dan

Foster. School car rides would not have been the same without you. Rest easy”

You Can Say he put OAP’s on the Map

The American born and raised speaker came into Nigerian shores in 2000, he hit the ground

running after he showed us his talented for speaking and more importantly, getting people to

listen. His success in the radio world gave a number of OAP’s the drive to hone in on their

craft and turned him into a mentor of many. An opinion post from www.dnbstories.com

stated “Dan Foster redefined radio presenting in Nigeria. The big radio stations making

waves in Nigeria today owe him big time”

He always wanted to share his passion

Many people might not have known this, but the renowned OAP had quit his job working

at Inspiration FM in 2014 to concentrate on starting the ‘Dan Foster Academy’ where he

would personally be teaching radio broadcasting to people who had a passion for it. Dan

Foster greatly believed that there were more like him and some even better. We’re not sure

about the future of the academy as of now, but guess who will be telling you all about it when

it’s here?

He Did it all for us and sometimes for free

The late, Dan Foster talked about his ‘Praise Jam’ Radio sessions in an interview with the

daily post: ‘It’s more like a ministry for me. It has touched so many lives, I want to continue

with that, and even if that’s the only thing I get to do. I started the show back at Cool FM and

did it for free. I was only paid to work on weekdays there.

A great one. A kind one. A real one. Dan Foster will always remain ‘Top Dawg’ in our

hearts. Rest easy, we love you.

Yours Truly!
