Mo Abudu bags multi-title partnership deal with Netflix

Netflix just won our hearts and subscriptions after signing a deal with Media veteran, Mo Abudu, to bring to literary classics to screen. Here’s what you should know with a little bit of spice
Mo Abudu, Media Royale and entrepreneur first came into the limelight in 2006 with her hit Talk Show “Moments with Mo” the avid converser then went on to establish EbonyLife Tv, the first fully-Nigerian owned entertainment empire. The media mogul also executively produced films, some of which are credited amongst the highest grossing films in Nigeria. Wedding Party anyone? You get the picture.
Mo didn’t stop there, her amazing contributions to the Nollywood industry caught the eye of the world’s most popular streaming platform, Netflix in a beautiful partnership that will see the production of two literary classics. *pause for dramatic effect*
The agenda: To create a series adaptation of Lola Shoneyin’s “The secret lives of Baba Segi’s wives” and a film adaption of Wole Soyinka’s “Death and the King's Horsemen” Co produced by both Mo Abudu and Netflix studios.
Wait! that's not all the gist!
In addition, Mo Abudu's Production company 'Ebony Life TV' will also produce "two new Nigerian Originals plus licensed films AND a series for Netflix! the tweet concluded. *head bursts* Netflix made the announcement Via Twitter on Friday morning and we are still trying to drink chilled water to calm our nerves.
The partnership is definitely going to build an even larger fan base in Nigeria and open up more opportunities for more Nigerian producers to take their films to the world! We are so excited and cannot wait to watch these amazing films and series'!
