By now - regardless if you cared or not – we've all heard a little something on

astrology, zodiacs, and horoscopes. Some knew it from looking for their birthdays in

the horoscope columns in newspapers and some just heard it floating around. So

whether you're here through trend or interest on the subject, we want to walk with

you through your Astro journey, using this column.

Or at least get you started.

There is nothing to be scared of, because contrary to popular belief, Astrology is a

science. And what science isn't magical?

Some people use astrology to study themselves and become more self-aware, others

go deeper and can predict, the energies of the future. It can be used in all aspects of

life.

The best part of exploring astrology is that you can seldom stop learning and being

fascinated by what you find. We must warn you, no matter how slow your pace is in

learning you will potentially enter the Astro black hole that most astrology

enthusiasts can attest to.

There are different types of astrology but we're going to start with basics and move

up from there.

To kick off your journey through Astrology it is very important to know that you are

made up of more than one sign. This is the reason why some people feel they

resonate more with signs that aren't their sun sign. In fact, you are made up of at

least 12 planetary signs in your natal chart (see also birth chart) and a few extras

you will learn along the way.

The one sign you have been associating with is most likely your sun sign, which is

the sign you find easily using your birthday on the normal calendar. But aside from

that, we all have the moon, rising and all the planets from mars to pluto.

The best place to get started on your own is by learning your natal chart and

learning how each planet affects different areas of your life and expressions. No one

knows you more than you, so knowing your chart will enable you to make more

accurate observations.

Good places to study and calculate your chart are cafeastrology.com and astro.com.

All you will need are your birthday, place of birth, and the time of birth (ask your

mum every day till she gives in).

And that's how you begin your journey through the cosmos, enjoy.
