Metropolitan cities in Africa are becoming hotspots for blockbuster investments, and we are anticipating them!

Africa has 7 megacities, in which urban structures are being erected, and could possibly be sites for massive commercial and recreational activities in the future. Over the years, efforts have been channelled into glamourising the continent, in terms of entertainment and art. But it isn’t just about the arts though; it’s also about the lifestyle. There are projects being executed in Africa’s megacities that are geared towards improving living standards and transforming districts into mega, super cities. Let’s take a look into the future,
shall we?
When we say Èkó ò ní bàjé oooooo! (Lagos will not spoil), you say, Ó bàjé tí (it’s hard to spoil),
because Lagos isn’t spoiling; it is becoming more advanced. With the construction of the
multibillion suburban and commercial city, Eko Atlantic, we can say that the grass is truly green
for Èkó. This establishment is located at the renowned Bar Beach shoreline in Lagos, which is in
proximity with Lekki and Victoria Island. It’s projected to house about 250,000 people and
employ 150,000 daily commuters. Not only is this project fancy; it is sustainable. The activities
of the top-notch city are eco-friendly and would attract global establishments and voyagers,
which would be a major economy booster. There’s no need to visit Atlantis; it has come to Èkó,
bringing first-class yachts, plush trees, boulevards, and lush apartments.

Alright now let’s pause daydreaming about the sunset at the beach and head right into Nairobi’s
tech city, Konza Technopolis. This ground-breaking project occupies 2,000 hectares of land, and
is estimated to cost $14.5 billion to build, which would make the city a centre for business
process outsourcing, data centres, software development, call centres and light assembly
manufacturing industries, disaster recovery centres. Also, the masterplan for the Technopolis
includes university campuses hotels, Science parks, shopping malls, convention centres, schools, residential areas and hospitals. Welcome to the silicon valley of Kenya!
